About

In January of 2015 we said good bye to one of South Dakota’s great cattlemen. LaVerne was born in 1939, and passed away after a brief battle with a brain tumor. Dad loved his cowherd and talked about them all the time. When hearing of his passing, one of our customers sent this to me… "Sorry to hear about your dad. I have a lot of respect for him and I go back a long ways to the Wessington Springs sale barn when I first started in the cow-calf thing. Your dad and uncle were the best kept secret in the Simmental breed. I bought bulls from a lot of other breeders in the last 37 years but your dad’s was hands down the most powerful performing. My biggest, best calves came from Arhart bulls."
