My name is Stanlee D Johnson and I am a candidate for Aurora County Commissioner District #1 I am a life long resident of Palatine Township, Aurora county. I graduated from Plankinton High and am married to Marlene (Haines). I am a retired farmer and landowner. I am self employed and refinish antique furniture and own an Antique store. I have served one term as your Aurora County Commissioner District #1, I have learned allot about the workings of our county government by attending local, regional and state meetings. I am also representing Aurora County by serving on the ROCS (Rural Office of Community Services) and Rail Authority Board. % I have worked to make sure Aurora County roads and bridges are maintained and updated as needed. Good transportation is essential in our rural areas. We need to work to keep our taxes low and make wise use of tax dollars. We need to be aware of the cost of crime in our county and work with law enforcement to keep our residents safe. I would like to see the completion of the Aurora County courthouse renovation and am happy to see that we will have a handicapped accessible courthouse with updated utilities. I have the time to commit to serving as your commissioner and am always Wllig to listen to your concerns, ideas and questions. I will make sure they are brought to the right people for answers.
