Wall is a progressive community of 800 year-round residents. Located just 50 miles east of Rapid City, S.D., on Interstate 90, Wall's major industries are agriculture and tourism and the community is bolstered by the large sales tax base and the major nearby South Dakota attractions, such as Wall Drug and the Badlands National Park.
City services include a 3,500-foot hard surface runway at the airport; a community library; a park with a playground, swimming pool, a walking/bicycling path, tennis and volleyball courts, and picnic shelters; and various other amenities. Both the fire department and ambulance services have first class equipment and many dedicated volunteers.
